David Charles Rummage, 79, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on April 15, 2023, doing what he loved, riding horses. He was born on June 21, 1943, in Mooresville to the late Joseph Charles “JC” and Edna London Rummage.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by grandson, Brice Alden Rummage; and sister, Virginia Rummage Curry.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Rummage Hricko (Jim); son, D. Mark Rummage; grandchildren, Wes Mowrer, and Erin Rummage Maynard (Scott); great-grandchildren, Noah Maynard and Remi Mowrer; and siblings, Jo Carol Joyner, Rebecca Rummage, and Alice Fleming (Dickie).

A special memorial service representing who David was and his love of riding and roping is being planned and details will be released soon.

The family would like to say a special thank you to his favorite riding partner, granddaughter, Erin Rummage Maynard, for the love and care she gave to her grandfather. She provided not only everyday care, but also encouraged him to live his life doing what he loved. She was his perfect riding partner.
