David Don Harshbarger, 53, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.

He was born on January 11, 1970, in Huntington, W.Va. He was a 1988 graduate of Milton High School in West Virginia. He was an avid sports fan, especially the West Virginia Mountaineers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed his family and taking his grandchildren for hikes. David also enjoyed going to rock concerts.

He is survived by his parents, Carl Thomas Harshbarger and Deborah Diamond Harshbarger; daughter, Kayla Collins (Nick); brothers, Michael (Rana) and Derek (Yohalis); sister, Carrie (Jason); grandchildren, Owen and Lily Collins; and niece, Katie; along with numerous other nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, August 28, at Troutman New Perth Presbyterian Church. A service will also be held later in Milton, W.Va.
