Deborah Sue Christy, 71, of Mooresville, N.C., went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, June 7, 2023.

She was born on December 30, 1951, in Mooresville to the late Floyd and Helen Perkins Christy. She was a graduate of Mooresville Senior High School, Class of 1970. She was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church, where she helped with VBS and decorating the church sanctuary. She loved her Lord and Savior and enjoyed reading her Bible, baking, and traveling. She always saw the best in everyone and never held a grudge.

Deborah was a caring, loving mother, grandmother, church member, and friend. She will be remembered for her heart and passion for her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Christy.

She is survived by her children, Heather Knight (Jason), and Cory Owens (Wendy); siblings, Frankie Christy (Shirley), Sheila Pope (Paul), and Robin Sharp (Irv); sister-in-law, Carol Christy; lifelong friend, Nancy Henson; grandchildren, Taylor, Grayson, Miles, Riley, and Emma; and great grandchild, Bowen. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at Park Avenue United Methodist Church with Rev. Vickie Wilson and Rev. Chris Henson officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. at the church.
