Delores Ellison Morton, 82, of Mount Ulla, N.C., passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023. She was born on January 9, 1941, in Greenbrier County, W.Va., to the late Dennis and Edith Corron Ellison.

She attended Southside Baptist Church, Mooresville, and enjoyed traveling and going to the beach. She also enjoyed watching Westerns, especially Gunsmoke. She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. She loved her grandchildren and all the get togethers.

She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepson, Randy Morton, and brother, Dennis Ellison.

She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Jerry Morton; children, Timothy Curtis Jordan (Susan Faye Carson), Robert Wayne Jordan (Mary Beth Blake), Jeffrey Allen Jordan (Teresa Ann Stilwell), Sandra Puckett Lenny (Robert Preston), William Franklin Puckett, and Todd Morton; sister-in-law, Nancy Ellison; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and nieces, Sonya, Hope and Sara.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 4, 2023, at the chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with Rev. David Klinedinst officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 525 S Broad Street, Mooresville, NC 28115; or St. Jude Children’s Research, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
