Diane Adele Nixon, 83, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on February 16, 2023. She was born on July 3, 1939, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Peter and Adeline Kroll

Diane was a long-time member of St. Bernhards Catholic Church in Homer Glen, Ill., and the last two years at St. Therese Catholic Church in Mooresville. She was strong in her faith, giving her the opportunity to teach her daughters how to be good mothers and wives. She showed them how to have style and grace. Her love was watching the Chicago Bulls and Bears, but her passion was to be at and watch every sporting event of her son and her grandchildren. Diane was loved deeply by her family and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Raymond Nixon; great-grandson, Nolan Thomas; and brothers, Peter Kroll and Ronald Kroll.

Diane is survived by her children, Dennis Nixon, Pamela Thomas (Steven), and Dawn Holthaus (Kenneth); grandchildren, Kristopher Thomas (Steffani), Kyle Thomas (Alexandria), and Samantha Jo Nixon; great-grandchildren, Parker Thomas, Emmett Thomas, and Rowan Thomas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at a later date in Illinois.
