Mr. Eddie Marshall Johnson, 71, was born in Rowan County on May 28, 1951, to the late Henry Johnson and Minnie Rivers Johnson. He departed this life on May 7, 2023, at Gordon Hospice House.

Eddie graduated from Davie County High School and attended Johnson C. Smith University. He was at one time a supervisor at Thonet Industries and owned a lawn care business, Reyes Johnson Lawn Care. He loved inventions and making things and had applied for two patents. He was on the Deacon Board with the House of Prayer, and played in the Shout Band, where he played the keyboard and the bass horn, and was in the Top 100 a few times. He was the president of Presidents and operated the day kitchen. After a two-year courtship, he married the love of his life, Margaret Dulin Johnson, and they shared six wonderful years.

He leaves to cherish the memory of his life his wife, Margaret Dulin Johnson; one son, Eddie Johnson Jr.; stepchildren, Kyonte Davidson and Ziya Dulin; mother-in-law, Mary Hewitt; godchild, Ahueri Reyes; siblings, Larry (Brenda) Johnson, Marion Johnson, Randy Johnson, Terry Johnson, Crystal Clement, and Sherry (Brian) Diggs; brothers-in-law, Greg Dulin, Shane (Vickie) Turner, and Josh (Kendra) McCullough; sisters-in-law, Barbara Glover, and Anita Dulin; a loving aunt, Barbara Walls of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Amber (Josh) Joyce of Charlotte, N.C., Destiny Johnson, Whitney Johnson, Zackery Johnson, Alexander Johnson, and Kenneth Marino, all of Statesville, N.C., Gael Johnson of Juarez, Mexico, and Khalis Davidson of the home; special niece, Whitney Turner; friend and barber, John Feimster; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the House of Prayer, Statesville, N.C., at 11 a.m. He will lie in state from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Elder Baptist will be officiate and burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery.
