Edward Lester Massey Jr., 79, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023. He was born on June 28, 1944, in Rockingham County, N.C., to the late Edward and Rena Crewes Massey.

Edward enjoyed deer hunting, dirt track racing, building race cars and deep-sea fishing. He was the founding member of Top Dog Hunting Club. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lois Elsaesser Massey; sons, Edward “Eddie” Massey III, and Johnathan David Massey; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with Chaplain Russell Files officiating. Burial will follow the service at Iredell Memorial Park, Statesville.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
