Eli Tyler Jordan, 16, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, in his home surrounded by loved ones.

Everyone who met Eli fell in love with him. If love could have cured Eli, he would have been saved. Eli was surrounded by family and friends. He fought this horrible disease until he took his last breath.

Eli was a deep thinker and theorist with a perspective that was well beyond 16 years. He loved questioning the why’s of the world. Eli didn’t have a doubt that he had lived a full life. He said if there was more for him to do, he would have lived longer.

Eli enjoyed cooking, photography, and playing basketball. Most of all Eli loved driving his car. His final wish was a coyote engine Mustang.

Eli did not want us to cry over him. He wanted us to celebrate his life, which we will do. Please dress for a celebration and be ready to share your best Eli story.

A Celebration of life service will be held on August 6, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. at The Cove Church, 935 Crossroads Drive, Statesville, NC 28625.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Brenner’s Children Hospital in the memo please include: “Peds Oncology Clinic The Children’s Cancer Fund.” It was important to Eli to make the clinic adolescent friendly. He was going to be on the task force this summer for renovations.
