Elizabeth Sherese Roberts, 65, joined the Heavenly Kingdom on Sunday, August 13, 2023. She was born in Orlando, Fla., and received her associate degree in Weaving and Design at the N.C. Vocational Textile School in June of 1981.
A true Renaissance woman, she worked as a travel Agent for AAA Carolinas, worked in mortgage default with Wells Fargo, and was a reservist with FEMA in the Homeland Security Department, where she helped people displaced by disasters. She was involved in the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) since 1979 and held the title of Court Baroness as Gwynwilf. She attained the Golden Dolphin, among other awards, for her service and crafts.
She is survived by her sister, Teresa Roberts; brother, Frank O. Roberts III and his spouse Margaret; nephews in the Navy, Jason C. Roberts and his wife Amanda and Carey A. Roberts and his wife Carly.
A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, August 26, at St John’s Lutheran Church, 740 N. Center Street, Statesville, N.C. Visitation starts at 10 a.m. The service begins at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow. Internment will be at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, 75 Chapel of Faith Drive, Candler, N.C. at 4 p.m.
She will be well remembered because she was so well loved.
