Elvia Miriam Vick, 85, passed away July 18, 2023.

Elvia was born August 23,1937, in Puerto Rico to the late Jose Rivera and Adela Colon. She married John Vick in 1957, and they were together for 48 years until his passing in 2005. Elvia was well traveled; she lived in Germany, Las Vegas and Florida just to name a few places. Before she retired, she worked at Sea World in the gift shop. She enjoyed spending time with her family and caring for her grandchildren. Elvia loved to dance, travel, garden, bowling and listening to country and salsa music.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, John Alvin Vick, and brother-in-law, Carlos Castilloveitia

Elvia is survived by her daughters, Anita Cerda (Edward) and Patty Thompson (Russ); grandchildren, Danielle Crider (Johnny), Christopher Reed, Liana Marconyak (Brad), Amanda Drechsler (Josh) and Mat Cerda; siblings, Mirna Castilloveitia, Jose Manual Rivera (Gloria), Yolanda Wedel (Horst) and Edwin Rivera Colon (Lourdes); and 13 great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 12 noon on Friday, July 21, 2023, at St. Phillip the Apostle Catholic Church. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or a tree be planted in her honor.
