Mr. Eugene Eric Sherrill, 46, was born in Iredell County on April 21, 1977, to the late Tony Hart and Valerie Sherrill. He departed this life on Saturday, December 9, 2023.

Eric attended Statesville High School and worked at the Walmart Fulfillment Center in Troutman, N.C., as a picker. He was married to the love of his life Carrie Diane Peet Sherrill.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert Sherrod and Hattie Hart Sherrod; father-in-law, Jeffery Daniels; mother-in-law, Daphne Peet; brother, Arthur Sherrill; and a sister, Neva Mae Sherrill.

He leaves to cherish the memory of his life his wife, Carrie Diane Peet Sherrill; three children, Tevin Donte Sherrill, Shaquayla “Monae” Sherrill, and Eric Sherrill; one brother, “A.J.” Sherrill; stepsisters, April Strickland, Chayse (Eric) Wiles, and Kaylah (Tevan) Holder; grandchildren, Kaydence Sherrill, Kyleigh Sherrill, A’Dore Sherrill, Cassius Sherrill, Kyland Carson, and baby boy Sherrill; special friends, Amos Tucker, Clinton Bailey, and Bobby Moss; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at 3 p.m. at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary. Pastor Ivan Cowan will be officiating the service. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home and burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery.
