Franklin Lee Williams, 82, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023 a,t home while with Hospice & Palliative Care after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Franklin was born January 18, 1941, in Iredell county to Laurie Williams and Vergil Williams. He grew up working in the cotton fields and tobacco fields and on his parents farm. Mr. Williams cut trees for a living as well as planted flowers. He was married to Martha Williams for 51 years. Together, they raised two children, Deborah Robbins and Jeff Williams. Franklin left behind his loving family to carry on his tradition of planting flowers and raising gardens.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Martha Williams; son, Jeff Williams; sisters, Lucillie and Beverly and brothers, Thomas and Jessie.

Franklin is survived by his daughter, Deborah Robbins; six grandchildren, Belinda, Trina, Ashley, Valerie, Brittany and Aaron; 27 great grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn and Bettyann; and sister-in-law, Virginia Burton.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Nicholson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 2 p.m. with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Mr. Williams will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
