Mr. George Thomas Adams Jr., 61, of Mooresville, N.C., went home to be with The Lord on Monday, March 13, 2023, at his residence following a brief illness.
George was born on September 27, 1961, in Mecklenburg County to the late George Thomas Adams Sr. and Jessie Derr Caldwell. He was a loving father, grandfather, son and brother. George was a truck driver most of his life as he had dreamed to drive as a young child. Following his truck driving career, he committed his time serving the community as the warehouse supervisor at the Mooresville Christian Mission for several years. He will be remembered for his humor and his glowing personality. George enjoyed spending time with family and gathering around the grill in which he was known for his good food and love for his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilber G. Caldwell.
In addition to his mother, Jessie Caldwell, he is survived by his daughter, Monicka Shay’Vonne Adams, and her children, Nunu, Zi, Baby J, Big Mama, Pete and Paul; nephew, Gregory “Marty” Adams and his wife Mary and their children Meyer and Miles; two sisters, Phylis Curry and Thomasa Adams; and one brother Darryl Caldwell and his wife Kim. Also surviving are his loving partner, Trina Gose-Martin of the home, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
A homegoing service will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with the Reverend Charles Young officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
