Harold Glen Estes, 85, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in Mooresville. Born December 30, 1937, in Iredell County, he was a son of the late Grady Jackson Estes and Pearl Mae Sipes Estes.

Mr. Estes was a member of Fern Hill Baptist Church in Mooresville. He formerly worked at AL Schafer in Troutman. Mr. Estes loved to sing, loved his church and loved the Lord. Since he never had children of his own, Hershey candy bars were always in his pocket for the kids. His wife Jean was the love of his life and was always by his side. As kids, he was the one that kept everyone in line at the farm amongst all the brothers.

Mr. Estes is survived by his beloved wife Sylvia “Jean” Honeycutt Estes; brothers, Edward “Shorty” Lee Estes, Hubert Levan Estes (Earlene), Ernest Jackson Estes (Ginger) and Clifford Estes (Sharon); and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Donnie Ray Estes.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, October 2, 2023, at Fern Hill Baptist Church, Troutman, with Rev. Jesse Stroud and Rev. Eddie Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hope Christian Academy at Fern Hill Baptist Church, 872 Fern Hill Road, Mooresville, NC 28117.
