Helen Lavonda Mode Nance, 81, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023. She was born on February 2, 1942, in Cleveland County, N.C. to the late Corbett and Frances Humphries Mode.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gary Michael Nance; children, Lavonda Jean Rabb, and Lynn Thomas (Wayne); step-children, Rhonda Nance (Chris Sandok) and Gerald Nance (Pamela); sisters, Hazel Davis, Kathy Gantt, and Rhonda Terry (Mike); grandchildren, Emma Willis (Blake), Ethan Thomas (fiancé, Kailee Mabe), Kelsie Peveler (Russell), and Blake Nance (Natalie); great grandchildren, Lane Willis, and Holden Peveler; her furbaby, Ben; and grand furbaby, Zena.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel, Mooresville, with Rev. David Klinedinst officiating. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation of North Carolina, 7413 Six Forks Road #255, Raleigh, NC 27615 in memory of Helen Nance.
