Ila “Faye” Donaldson Ketchie, 82, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023. She was born on July 18, 1940, in Mooresville, N.C., to the late Ervin “Quitman” and Cora “Rebecca” Gillespie Donaldson.

She was a member of Vanderburg Methodist Church, Mooresville. Faye was a 1962 graduate of Rowan School of Nursing in Salisbury. She worked as a nurse until 2005. From 1966 to 1971, she worked at Dr. Sloan’s office in Mooresville. She took some time off and then started back to work at Iredell Memorial Hospital, where she worked from 1973 until 2005. Faye enjoyed traveling and gardening. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Winders; and brothers, Ervin Donaldson, William Donaldson.

She is survived by her loving husband, Roger Wayne Ketchie I; children, Roger Wayne Ketchie II (Angela), and Ervin “Vincent” Ketchie (Laura); sisters, Lura Dorton and Lavonne Collins; twin brother, Ray Donaldson; and grandchildren, Madison Ketchie, Morgan Ketchie, Jesse Ketchie.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Vanderburg Methodist Church, Mooresville with Pastor Melanie Nichols officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 10, 2023, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville.
