Ismael DeJesus, 89, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. He was born on June 17, 1934, in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, to the late Eustaquio and Carlota Matta DeJesus.

Ismael enjoyed watching wrestling, exercising, weightlifting, and working in the yard. He loved his family, especially being with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Lee Samuel DeJesus; brothers, Felix Caraballo, Fabian DeJesus, Carlos DeJesus, and Jesus Casillas; and sister, Carmin Vasquez.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Rowena DeJesus and husband Eric Colon; brothers, William Casillas and Sergio Casillas; sister, Judith Torres; grandchildren, Justyn Jenkins and Cyara Colon; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will announce a celebration of life at a later date.
