Jack Elmore Ervin, 93, a life-long resident of Troutman, N.C., passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at his home.
Jack was born on December 25, 1929, in Troutman to the late Everett and Ula Whiteside Ervin. He was a graduate of Troutman High School and served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, where he was a mailman for over twenty years. Jack was a long-time member of Duck Creek Gun Club, where he enjoyed many fellowships and helped with groceries and skeet supplies. He was a member of Troutman First United Methodist Church.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Ellen Gail Ervin; five grandchildren; three brothers, Danny Ervin, Melvin Ervin and Bud Ervin; two sisters, Sonya Blake and Carlene Willard; and two half-sisters, Faye and Doris.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy and Vernon Ervin; and two sisters, Miriam and Nancy Ervin.
He will be missed by his family; brothers, sisters, daughter and grandchildren.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
