Jeffrey Lynn Richardson, 67, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on January 26, 2023. He was born on February 26, 1955, in Lenoir, N.C., to the late David and Betty Richardson.

Jeff was a wonderful, Christian man who was very devoted to his church, Fair View United Methodist, where he was a member for more than 40 years. He served the church in many different capacities, most recently as serving as church council chair, lay delegate to the conference, choir member and Sunday school teacher.

Jeff was very respected and well known in his field and career. He worked as a mechanical engineer with Duke Energy fulltime for 35 years and eight years as a consultant. His work was nationally recognized, and in 2022 he was inducted into the North Carolina State University Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Alumni Hall of Fame.

Most of all, Jeff was a loving husband, devoted and proud father and an amazing G-daddy. He loved every moment he was able to spend with his family. To them, he was the most incredible man who ever lived and he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Melia Richardson; children, Emily Selfridge (Steve) and Jeffrey Richardson Jr. (Kristi); grandchildren, Ella Claire Goins, Benny R. Goins III, and Katherine and Luke Selfridge; and his beloved furbaby, Mollie.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Fair View United Methodist, Mooresville, N.C. Burial will be private.
