Mrs. Jo Ann Bellamy Morrison, 83, was born in Iredell County, N.C., on January 8, 1940, to the late Ralph and Ollie Johnson Bellamy. She departed this life on Friday, March 10, 2023 at her residence.

Jo Ann graduated from Unity High School with the Class of 1957 and Statesville Business College.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jimmy” Morrison; children, Suprenna Tilo and Tara Morrison; a grandson, Chadrick Bellamy; sisters, Mary Nota, Josephine Bellamy, and Duck Gray; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Bellamy.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life three daughters, Cynthia (Stanley) Campbell, Sheila Gray, and Paulette Morrison; son-in-law, Sewlyn Tabor; three brothers, Hubert (Louise) Bellamy, Buford (Betty) Bellamy, and William Bellamy; one sister, Emmaline Bellamy; brothers-in-law, John Robert (Susan) Morrison and Steve Morrison; sisters-in-law, Ann Morrison, Evelyn Tebbs, Faye Bailey, and Linda Prattis; eight grandchildren, Tiffany Renwich, Brandon Bellamy, Ebony Feimster, Tristin Morrison, Anthony Renwick, Charity Morrison, Cree Tabor, and Byron Eckles; eight great grandchildren, Rashad Davidson, Quan Morrison, Qualyn Keaton, Tyron Morrison, Zora Reid, Tavin Renwick, Chase Morrison, Byron Eckles Jr, and Ayden and Jayden Nunn; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at First Baptist Church, Statesville, N.C. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1 p.m. at the church. Reverend Brunson will be officiating the service and burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon AME Zion Church Cemetery.
