John Douglas Norton, 57, of Statesville, N.C., died Thursday, March 23, 2023. He was born in Lansing, Mich., to Joan Marie Shiroda Norton and the late Douglas S. Norton.

John graduated from Bullard High School in Fresno, Calif., and attended Front Range Community College. He was a people person and had a huge heart. John loved riding his lawnmower, camping, growing vegetables in the garden, working in his yard, throwing darts, and NASCAR.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 23 years, Mary Higgins Norton; a son, Eric Lee Carter; two brothers, Tom Norton and Dan Norton and his wife Shelle; a nephew, Jordan Brown; and many friends. His precious fur baby, Kodi, preceded him in death.

At his request there will be no formal services.
