Karen Denise Martin Wicks, 66, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Gordon Hospice House. Born on March 31, 1967, she was the daughter of the late JC Martin and Annie Lou Martin.

Karen was a 1975 graduate of Statesville High School. She loved to fish and had a passion for crafts, which included her talent of crocheting. Karen also loved to go for drives with her husband Frankie.

In addition to her parents, JC and Annie Lou Martin, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph “Joe” Marting. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 22 years, Frankie Wicks; her niece, Sharon Whitehead; and her loving “fur babies,” Rascal and Angel.

A service in her memory will be announced at a future date.
