Kay Harkey White, 75, of Cleveland, N.C., passed away on February 22, 2023. She was born on April 10, 1947, in Charlotte, N.C., to the late Ervin and Maggie Schenck Harkey.

Kay loved the Lord and was a former long-time member of Plaza Baptist church in Charlotte and recently, Centenary United Methodist Church in Mt. Ulla, N.C. Kay loved her career as assistant administrator at J-Bear Child Development Center, where she worked in the infant room for 38 years. Kay was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who loved any time that she could spend with her family. She was deeply loved by all and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by Butch and Johnny Harkey.

She is survived by her husband, Richard “Rick” White Sr.; children, Robin Davidson (Brian), Scott White, and Rick White Jr. (Connie); grandchildren, Justin Davidson (Kelsey), Travis Davidson (Nicole), Shane Davison (Kayla), Caleb White, Johnathan White, Corey White, and Jacob White (Casey); great-grandchildren, Rylan, Reece, Piper and Maverick, Dawson and Tatum; siblings, Hilda Sowell, and Jerry, Larry, George, and Arthur Harkey.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2023, from 2 to 3:15 p.m. with the funeral service starting at 3:30 p.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church, Mt. Ulla, with Dr. Joe Collins officiating. A private burial will be held.
