Laura “Polly” Hager Strickland, 92, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville.

She was born on November 22, 1930, in Davidson, N.C., to the late Robert and Ruth Edwards Hager. Mrs. Strickland was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Davidson. She loved her family and spending time with them.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Charles “Jack” Arthur Strickland; daughter, Sandi Strickland; granddaughter, Carla; grandson, Emmett; and ten brothers and sisters, Mabel McIntosh, Dorothy Perkins, Robert Hager, Nancy Elliott, Thelma Armstrong, Lonnie Hager, Connie Bolick, Peggie Hawkins, Dean Hager, and Sid Hager.

She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Williams and husband Richard, and Vickie Firczak and husband Rick; grandchildren, Jeremy, Bobbi, Jessica, T.J. Shelby, and Laura; and seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 3, from 1 to 2 p.m. with a service following at 2 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church, Davidson, with Rev. Sammy Pierce officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
