Lawrence Hugh Anderson, 83, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, in Salisbury, N.C. He was born on April 19, 1940, in Wilkes County, N.C., to Lawrence and Martha Shew Anderson. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Odell B. Anderson; his brothers, Russell and Noah; and his sisters, Veatrice, Myrtle, Oma, and Stella.
He is survived by his children, Pamela Hoke (Rocky), Christopher Stills (Angela), Lawrence Hugh Anderson II (Sheila), Kimberly Feltham (Col. Raymond); his grandchildren, Lawrence Hugh Anderson III, Lauren Anderson Mack, Ashley Brooke Anderson Cottone, Joshua Travis Hoke, Bradley Evan Hoke, Elyssa Summer Crider, Chasity Lauren Wilburn, and Brittany Megan Wilburn; great-grandchildren, Lawrence Hugh Anderson IV, Cooper John Anderson, River Vaughn Pendergrass, Paisley Brooke Pendergrass, Kennedy Blake Cottone, Hayden Alexandra Mack, Harvey Glenn Mack, Cameron Riley Payne, Kiley Brielle Payne, Zamar Kien Teel, and Evelyn Bernice Teel; his brothers, James and Earl; and his sisters, Blanche, Ethel, Rose, and Jewell.
Lawrence was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He loved the time he spent serving as a Hospital Corpsman.
Lawrence graduated from Wilkes Central High School, and later went on to work as a police officer, a salesman, and a business owner. He was a vintage car collector, he learned to drive on the Wilkesboro Speedway. He also loved bluegrass and gospel music.
Lawrence was a member of Union Grove Christian Church.

Visitation will be held at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home on Friday, May 26, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial, with military honors, will be held at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Federation of the Blind of North Carolina.
