Lillian Stout Taylor, 85, of Statesville, N.C., passed away March 7, 2023, at Iredell Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Lillian was born February 14, 1938, in Iredell County to the late Robert Foy Stout and Margaret Dorothy Shoemaker Stout.

Lillian was the best biscuit maker ever, she loved traveling, cooking, and canning, and she loved spending time with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lillian was a self-employed poultry farmer and was a member of Welcome Baptist Church in Conover.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her third husband, Rupert Samuel Taylor; second husband, James Carlos Tharpe; one brother, Robert Stout; and one grandson, Edger Wayne Pitts.

Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Michael Pitts of Statesville; two daughters, Diane Bragau and Wanda Pitts Onley, both of Statesville; two brothers, Billy Stout of Texas and Jerry Stout and wife Kathy of Denver, N.C.; and one sister, Rachel Perkins of Denver, N.C. She had twelve grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Jeff Harris, Rev. Brian Doughit, and Rev. Jeremiah Parker will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Church. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers Michael Pitts Sr., Michael Pitts Jr., Zac Onley, Chris Onley, Dillon Harris, and Brian Romito. Honorary pallbearer will be Bentley Crum.
