Lisa Rae Burwell Aldrich, 53, of Ellenboro, N.C., suddenly and tragically departed this life on May 31, 2023. She was born on September 22, 1969, in Miami, Florida to Orville and Elizabeth Burwell.
Lisa was a loving and devoted wife, tirelessly hard worker, fun loving aunt, daddy’s girl, rock-n-roller, and a caring and supportive friend, sister, daughter and colleague. She handled her business while making the most of and enjoying her life. Her warm smile and independent spirit enriched and touched the lives of those she knew.
She is survived by her husband Guy Wesley ‘West’ Aldrich; her parents, Orville Jan and Elizabeth Lugo Burwell; her sister, Debra Ann Hager; her two brothers, Bill Ray Burwell and Scott Allen Burwell; numerous in-laws; a nephew, nieces, great-nephews, a great-niece, stepchildren, step-grandchildren and many close and beloved friends.
Lisa was a graduate of North Iredell High School and made her career in the construction industry. She loved her family very much and relished being the cool aunt who always had time and energy for and loved her nephews, nieces and step-grandchildren like they were her own children. She was always sure to spoil them, buying gifts with the most pieces or made the biggest mess or taking them on fun trips. She overcame much in her life with an unwavering work ethic and positive outlook. Her meeting and ultimately marrying her beloved husband West and spending her final years happily with him brought her fulfillment and comfort that she earned and deserved. She loved travel, the outdoors, film, literature, music, football, her Cincinnati Reds, NACAR, a good laugh and a good time.
