Lou Boyd Wynne, 75, of Troutman, N.C., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. Born on November 23, 1947, in New Bern, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Bonnie Hassell Boyd and Mary Jefferson Boyd.
Mrs. Wynne graduated from Havelock High School in Havelock, N.C., and married her high school sweetheart on September 18, 1966. Early in her career, she worked as a Medical Secretary to put her husband through college. She moved to Statesville in April of 1971, and worked for many years for the Broyhill family as an Executive Secretary.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie Hassell Boyd and Mary Jefferson Boyd, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sherry Phillips.
Left to cherish her memory include her husband of 57 years, Jay Wynne; her son, Walt Wynne and his wife Mary Beth; her daughter, Niki Wynne Lefever and her husband Gregg; and her three precious grandchildren, Noah Wynne, Olivia Lefever, and Lucy Lefever.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2023, in the Chapel of Broad Street United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following her Celebration of Life in Memorial Hall of Broad Street United Methodist Church.
