Lucy Ann Durso Gasparre, 93, of Mooresville, N.C., and formerly of Glen Cove, Long Island, N.Y., passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023, at S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House. She was born March 15, 2023, in Astoria, N.Y., to the late Frank Durso Sr. and Connie Leotta Durso. Lucy was a member of Community Gospel Church in Long Island, N.Y., and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, making ceramics, and being with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Gasparre Sr., and a brother, Frank Durso Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory include three sons, Louis Gasparre and wife Bonnie, Paul Gasparre Jr., and Michael Gaspare; three grandchildren, Michael and wife Emily, Matthew, and Sarah; and four great-grandchildren, Gianni, Isabella, Adien, and Sophia.

A memorial service celebrating Lucy’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023, in the chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home conducted by Pastor Larry Paulk. Burial will follow at a later date alongside her husband in New York. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
