Luna Southern Benge, 94, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023, at Gordon Hospice House. Luna was born on September 11, 1928, to the late Earl and Malgie Nicholson Southern in Iredell County, N.C.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Jefferson Benge; her sons, Ronnie G. Benge and Carl Eugene Benge; her son-in-law, Jimmy Millsaps; her brother, Buster Southern; and her sisters, Peggy Montgomery and Jettie Manning.

Luna is survived by her children, Johnny Benge (Brenda), Rickey Benge (Patricia), and Shirley B. Millsaps; and by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
