Mae Lois Rankin White, 72, of Statesville, N.C., died Thursday, January 19, 2023. She was born in Iredell County on July 14, 1950, to the late Nathaniel Rankin and Willie Mae Cowan Rankin.

Mae Lois worked in the healthcare industry as a CAN prior to her retirement. She enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling and cowboy movies, and working in her flowers. She was a member of Refuge Church of God, where she was in charge of the Kitchen Committee. Mae Lois took care of all her nieces and nephews, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Priest Dalton; two grandchildren, Tyler Dalton and Austin Dalton; three sisters, Sadie Campbell (Jerry), Mary Cotton, and Mildred Booker (Roosevelt); a special niece, Angie Rankin; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Moore’s Chapel AME Zion Church, 5890 S. River Church Road, Woodleaf, NC 27054 with Pastor Sadie Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m.
