Margie Marie Fesperman Karriker, 93, of Mt. Ulla, N.C., passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at her home.

She was born January 11, 1930, in Rowan County to the late Gurman Fesperman and Mildred Rex Fesperman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Karriker; brothers, Clyde, Richard, Ronnie and Junior Fesperman; sisters, Barbara Jean Fleming, Peggy Sue Goodman, and Brenda Kay McSwain; and an infant grandson, John Bishop Karriker.

Margie enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sewing, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was a long-time member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Mt. Ulla. She was employed as a supervisor at Troutman Industries and later retired from Draymore.

Margie is survived by her children, Johnny Karriker (Bonnie), and Betty Massey (Steve); sisters, Ella Mae Stewart, Sandra Jackson, and Sarah Lou Gallimore; grandchildren, Ashlyn Corley (Jeff), Brad Massey, Evan Massey (Daniela), Rachel Jackson (John), and Claire Karriker; great-grandchildren, Owen and Parker Corley, Adeline, Ella, and Autumn Massey, and Hattie Jackson, along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, November 16, from 1 to 2 p.m. in the fellowship hall at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Mt. Ulla. Services will be at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary with Rev. Mary Louise Sitton officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
