Marie “Bossie” Anderson Miller, 73, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023.

Marie was born in Iredell County on November 13, 1949, to the late Branson Anderson and Flossie Caldwell Anderson. She graduated from North Iredell High school in 1967. On April 24, 1971, she married Claude Larry Miller; they were together 47 years until his passing in 2018.

Mrs. Miller worked as a secretary in the birthing unit of Iredell Memorial Hospital for over 33 years before retiring. She was a member of the Monticello Baptist Church and enjoyed working in their nursery.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers-in law, Ed Barnette, Michael Wilcox and Clyde Warren.

Marie is survived by her son, Christopher Miller; daughters, Amy Cosey (David) and Tori Bass (Derrick); grandsons, Dakota Miller, Joseph Cosey, Noah Cosey, John Cosey, Sean “Frog” Bass, Colt Bass, and Gage Bass; granddaughter, Montana Bass; sisters, Doris Triplett (James), Peggy Anderson, Barbara “Cricket” Barnette, and Patsy Burnette (Raymond); brother, Harold “Hammer” Anderson (April); sisters-in-law, Jeanette Warren, Renae Parker (Claymon), Sharon Burgess (Rick), and Vina Wilcox; and honorary grandchildren, Nelson McCoy and Weston McCoy.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2023, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home. The family will gather at the home of Tori Bass prior to and after the visitation. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Monticello Baptist Church or Gordon Hospice House.
