Mary Ellen Whitehurst Richardson, 86, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023.

She was born on November 29, 1936, in Ayden, N.C., to the late John and Emily Avery Whitehurst. Mrs. Richardson was a former member of the Mooresville Lion’s Club. She enjoyed bowling, looking at the lake, and going to the casino at Cherokee with her friends. She loved her family and spending time with them, especially her granddaughter and great granddaughter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton “Pop” Richardson; and her four brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her children, Danny Richardson and wife Cyndi of Mooresville, and Cheryl Richardson of Mooresville; granddaughter, Britnie Sebesta; great granddaughter, Kalina Sebesta; sisters, Josephine Gregory, Margaret Potter, and Maxine Bates; and numerous nieces and nephews.

No services will be held at this time.
