Mary Vestal Suits, 76, of Statesville, N.C., passed away at Gordon Hospice House on Monday, March 27, 2023. Mary was born on November 11, 1946, to Joni and Bessie Vestal.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Suits; and brothers, Leo (Margaret) Vestal, Junior (Gene) Vestal, Wesley (Diane) Vestal, and Billie (Dorothy) Vestal.
Remaining to cherish her memory are her son, Wayne (Nancy) Childress; daughters, Regina (Michael) McDonald, and Shannon Suits; granddaughters, Kayla (TJ Smith) Childress, and Krista (Trevor) Lloyd, and their mother, Shirley Childress; grandsons, Douglas (Beth) Haskew, Jacob Haskew, Michael (Cayla) McDonald Jr., and Cameron Padgett; great-grandchildren, Tae, Kingston, Love, Jayden, Jonah, Whitley, Remi, and Millie June, sister, Betty (Tony) Upright; sisters-in-law, Cindy Dedmon and Pam (Will) Fox; and numerous nephews and nieces, including Rhonda Thompson, her “side kick” and running buddy.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2023, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Statesville Full Gospel Tabernacle – The WAVE, 135 Village Point Drive, Statesville, NC 28625. A Memorial Service will follow starting at 3 p.m. with Pastor Max Hayes and Pastor Tammy James officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations in her honor to Gordon Hospice House, 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
