Matthew Vance Goodman, 27, of Kannapolis, N.C., passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023.

He was born on September 5, 1995, in Iredell County, N.C., to Kathleen Briza Goodman and the late Michael Lynn Goodman. Matthew was a full-time firefighter with Kannapolis Fire Department and part-time firefighter with Mount Mourne and Lake Norman fire departments. He was loved by everyone and will be remembered for his passion to help everyone he could. He was a thrill seeker, loved the outdoors, and riding dirt bikes and off roading.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Goodman Jr. and Stephen Goodman.

He is survived by his mother, Kathleen Briza Goodman; sisters, Jennifer and Christine; brothers, Thomas Goodman and Andrew Goodman; and nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, at the Kannapolis Fire Station 3, 1703 Concord Lake Road, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
