Neal Paul Randol, 70, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 16, 2023, in his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born June 13, 1952, to the late Leonard Randol and Elenore Cox in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Paul was a loving partner and father. He was also a proud “Pawpaw” to not only his own grandchildren, but to nearly every young person who entered his life. He was a good friend and the type of neighbor who quickly became a friend. Whether you needed to borrow a weed eater, just a word of encouragement or anything in between, Paul was there unfailingly.
Paul served his country in the Korean War before returning home to become a skilled painter. This was a trade he excelled at, developing many long-term client relationships that took him all over the state and beyond. Some of his other work includes prominent structures in beautiful downtown Statesville.
Paul is survived by special friend, Phyllis Stevens; children, Stacey Randol, Trisha Coffey (Amanda), Bobbie Jean Randol and Corey Randol (Ashley); bonus children, Kasey, April, Antwon, and Angela; grandchildren, Hayden, Morgan, Miranda, Ian, Corey, Lyndsie, Levi, Mae, Rae, Gage, Kayden, and Kaelyn; and the mother of his children, Teri Randol.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, at 731 Alexander Street, Statesville, at which time his life will be celebrated to honor his legacy and constant reminder to “smile every chance you get!”
Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family.
