Nelson Arroyave, 67, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Born on February 7, 1956, in Colombia, he was the son of Luis Anibal Arroyave and Luz Marina Lopez.

Nelson enjoyed walking and had a love for nature and the outdoors. He also liked futbol and fishing.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 46 years, Nancy Agudelo; his daughter, Paula Arroyave; his sons, Alexander Arroyave and Diego Arroyave; grandchildren, Juliana Arroyave, Julieta Arroyave, Salome Arroyave, and Valeria Arroyave; sisters, Marleny Arroyave, Nidia Arroyave, and Rosalba Arroyave; and his brothers, Hernan Arroyave and Mariano Arroyave.

A Memorial Service to honor Nelson’s life will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, in the Chapel of Nicholson Funeral Home.
