Pamela Barker Godfrey, 68, of Troutman, N.C., passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at her home.
Pamela was born on July 15, 1955, in Iredell County to Ruth Rimmer Barker and the late Loree Barker. She was a graduate of North Iredell High School and went on to attend UNC Greensboro and Lenoir Rhyne, where she received her master’s degree. On June 27, 1981, she married her husband, John Wilson Godfrey, who survives. Pam worked as a teacher for many years in the Iredell-Statesville Schools system. She was a long-time member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Some of Pam’s hobbies included gardening, reading, playing the piano, singing in the choir, spending time at the beach and, above all, being with her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish Pamela’s memories include her husband, John Godfrey; her sons, Adam Godfrey (Lisa), Matt Godfrey, and Daniel Godfrey; her mother, Ruth Barker; her siblings, Steve Barker (Lorrie), Kimberly Barker (Bill Woodman), and Jeff Barker (Sarah); and grandsons, Luca and Jackson Godfrey. Also surviving are her brothers-in-law, Chester Godfrey, William Godfrey, Barry Godfrey (Sandy) and sister-in-law, Barbara McCloud (Butch); nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Lauren, Thomas, John Ryan, Adriana, Ben, Rebekah, William, Alex, Ethan, Faith, Grace, and Laci; and great nieces and nephews, DJ, Brody, Amelia and Ollie, all who loved and adored their Aunt Pam.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 30, at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with burial to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery. The family will visit with friends following the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Choir at 225 Morgan Street, Troutman, NC 28166.
