Pearl Liles Warricks, 86, of Statesville, N.C., passed away April 24, 2023, at the Gordon Hospice House.
Pearl was born August 17, 1936 in Richmond County, N.C., and was the daughter of the late Archie Lee Liles and Ettie McGee Liles. She graduated from Rockingham City Schools and Southeastern Beauty College in Charlotte. On October 11, 1958, she married Herschel “Herb” Leanier Warricks, who passed away October 1, 2011. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and was retired from Neely Ltd. and Nicholson Funeral Home as a secretary/ bookkeeper.
She is survived by two sons, Steven L. Warricks (Karen), and Rodney E. Warricks (Angela); two grandsons, Jason Warricks (Lauren), and Daniel Warricks (Brittney); four step grandchildren, Travis Williams (Lisa), Tracie Dishman (AJ), Sierra Humphries, and Joshua Humphries; five great grandchildren, Avery Grace Warricks, Brodie and Zander Warricks, Evie A. Warricks, and Eli Cole Dishman; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by the “strays” — you know who you are.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Eastside Baptist Church with Rev. John Acker, Rev. Johnny Bolin, and her son Steve Warricks officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the church before the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gordon Hospice House.
