Phillip Thomas Stumphf Jr., 67, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023. He was born on July 27, 1955, in Portage, Ohio, to the late Phillip and Joann Carver Stumphf.

He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force. He loved his family and will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Ford.

He is survived by his loving wife, Denise Abate Stumphf; children, Erica DeVivo (Pasquale “Lino”) of Plainview, N.Y., and Phillip Thomas Stumphf III (Jessica) of Macungie, Pa.; brother, Raymond Stumphf; sister, Peggy Edwards; mother-in-law, RoseMarie Abate; sister-in-law, Elaine Abate; grandchildren, Gianmarco, Alexia, Valentina, Logan, Kyle, Tiffany, Phillip Thomas Stumphf IV, Shane; and his Aunt Fay.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at the chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville. Burial will follow the service at Salisbury National Cemetery at 1 p.m. with military honors. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
