Phyllis Loretta Conley Wyatt Deal, 80, was called home to heaven seeing her Lord Jesus and reuniting with her two little girls and husband on November 19, 2023. Her death was unexpected but her health had been declining rapidly since she was diagnosed with dementia.

Phyllis was born in Mitchell County on July 15, 1943, to the late Jack Conley and Lillian Sparks Conley Wyatt. She was raised by her late mother and the man she called Daddy—Coyet N. Wyatt (deceased).

Phyllis went to Cool Spring School. She married “Bud” Lyle Allison Deal Jr. on July 20, 1959. He and their daughters, Tammy Loretta (4) and Angela (Angie) Michelle (3 months) were killed in an accident in 1971.

Surviving is her son, Jeffery Keith Deal. She has three grandchildren, Garrett Lyle Deal, Zachary David Newell and Jeffery Keith Deal Jr.

Her siblings are “Scott” Conley – deceased, (Teresa), Gayle Shepherd, Gearld Wyatt, Wanda W. Haneline (Dwayne) and Sherry Hensley (Terry). Left behind sre her special “girls,” her dog Baby and her cat Ms. Kitty. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, at Union Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Robin Miller officiating. Family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service. Committal will be at Union Chapel Cemetery. Nephews will be pallbearers.
