Robert “Bo” Samuel McIntosh passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023.

He was born on February 10, 1994, in Charlotte, N.C., to Robert G. “Bob” McIntosh and Ann Burriss McIntosh. He was raised in Cornelius, N.C.; graduated from Lake Norman Charter School in 2012, and then attended the University of South Carolina.

Bo had a passion for sports — playing football and lacrosse in high school in addition to travelling with Top Tier Lacrosse. He attended church at Pritchard Baptist, Bethel Presbyterian, and Davidson United Methodist churches. After high school, Bo developed a strong interest in his Scottish heritage and enjoyed the Loch Norman Highland Games, often being seen around the community and at his work events in a “proper” kilt. He was raised a Master Mason and was a member of Williams Masonic Lodge #176 in Cornelius, N.C.

Bo also developed an affinity for brewing. He enjoyed brewing and pouring beer for his friends, patrons, customers … and just for fun. When he was pouring, he never “worked” a day in his life because he loved what he was doing and the people he met. Bo was a natural bartender because it was very hard to dislike his dancing eyes and his captivating smile. It was difficult to remain outside of his charm, where the conversation and witty banter naturally flowed … with the beer, of course.

As much as he loved bartending, the true love of his life was his son, Sawyer R. McIntosh. From the time Bo found out that he was going to be a father, he was in love with Sawyer. The bond Bo shared with Sawyer was the fondest of Bo’s recent memories and something Sawyer will cherish as Bo lives on through him. Although their time together was cut much too short, the precious times Bo shared with Sawyer were the silver lining to the clouds in Bo’s life.

Bo is survived by his loving parents, Bob and Ann; his sister, Sarah McIntosh Hepler (Tyler); his grandmother, Rebecca M. “Becky” McIntosh; aunts, Patricia Burriss (Tommy), Anne McIntosh (Wayne), and Shannon McIntosh; uncle, Danny Burriss; cousins, Sophia, John, and Nicholas; and his son, Sawyer.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 26, from 1 to 3 p.m. with a service following at 3 p.m. at Davidson United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Humphries and Rev. Jody Seymour officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Historic Rural Hill, P.O. Box 1009, Huntersville, NC 28070 (online at www.ruralhill.net), for the Loch Norman Highland Games in Memory of Bo McIntosh.

Bo’s family is being served by Mike Cook and the professionals at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville, N.C. Condolences may be made to the family at www.cavin-cook.com.
