Robert “Bobby” Larry Lowe Sr., aka “The Mailman,” 88, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at his residence.

He was born on July 18, 1935, in Mooresville, N.C., to the late Robert Don Lowe and Bonnie Bumgarner Lowe. Mr. Lowe was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Mooresville. He enjoyed reading and taking his daily ride, and he never met a stranger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Lowe Howell.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth “Lib” Nantz Lowe; children, Robert “Robbie” Lowe Jr. (Jill), Karen Rhyne (Mark), and Michelle Burton (Darin); grandchildren, Seth Rhyne (Bethany), Kramer Lowe (Casie), Cameron Rhyne, and Sydney Caulder (Caleb); and six great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 17, at Southside Baptist Church, Mooresville, with Rev. David Klinedinst officiating. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Memorial Park.
