Robert Wayne Shumaker, 77 of Olin, N.C., died Friday, December 1, 2023, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C.

He was born on April 10, 1946, to the late Clarence Shumaker and Hester Shumaker. He was also preceded in death by his former wife, Irene Allen; two brothers, Bill Shumaker and Richard Shumaker; and two sisters, Dorothy Shumaker and Erma Jarvis.

Bobby loved fishing, hunting, working on old cars, woodworking and going to races at dirt tracks.

Those left to cherish his memory include a son, Randall Shumaker (Tina); a daughter, Merie Swink (Preston); five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gail Shumaker.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 2 p.m. at New Prospect Baptist Church with Pastor Josh Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
