Mrs. Ruby Mae Keaton Wellman, affectionately called “Patsy,” was born in Iredell County on June 26, 1938, and was the daughter of the late Jim Keaton and Ola Lackey Keaton Jolly. She departed this life on Thursday, August 17, 1923, at her home following an extended illness.

She was married to Lonnie Wellman, who preceded her in death.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Thursday, August 24, 2023, at St. Joseph Baptist Church. Reverend Darrick Clemons will officiate and burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Members of the family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m., but will assemble at home prior to the service. Mrs. Wellman will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state at 1 p.m.
