Ruth Payne Hefner, 80, of Statesville, N.C., passed away April 4, 2023, at her home after a brief illness. She was born October 21, 1942, in Iredell County to the late Clarence Clayton Payne and Bertha Mae Sigmon Payne. Ruth was a furniture worker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lonnie Hefner and three brothers, Glen Payne, William Payne, and Alford Payne, along with two stepbrothers, Willis Payne and Charlie Payne.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Anita Myers Warren and husband Allen Ray Warren of Statesville, and Lori Myers Vance; one sister, Joan Payne Meadow of Florida; one grandchild, Fallon Lynne Waldrop and husband Jonathan Waldrop; three great-grandchildren, Taylor Ann Waldrop, Aiden Allen Waldrop, and Blake James Waldrop; one special friend, Jennie Barris; and Nana’s beloved dog Benji.

Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Chapman Funeral Home. Chaplin Aaron Nacemre will officiate. The Family will receive friends Saturday, April 8, 2023, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Chapman Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Marvin United Methodist Church Cemetery.
