Terry Lee Blackford, 65, of Kannapolis, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. He was born on January 3, 1958, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Delbert and Jacqueline Hayward Blackford.

He enjoyed racing cars, working on cars, and building race cars. Terry loved spending time with his family and friends. His pride and joy were always his grandkids. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Cindy Blackford; brothers, Donald “Joe” Blackford and Delbert “Scott” Blackford; and grandson, Landon Young.

Those left to cherish his memory include his longtime fiancée, Lisa Mauldin; daughter, Ginger Thornton (Tony) of Concord, N.C.; sons, Terry Miller of Toledo, Ohio, Daniel Barnett (Becca) of Toledo, Ohio, Adam Miller (Julie) of Toledo, Ohio, and Rusty Blackford of Kannapolis, N.C.; stepdaughter, Kimberly Young (Jeff) of Mooresville, N.C.; stepson, Jonathan Kelly (Alyssa) of Concord, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Blackford of Newport News, Va., and Shari Hunt of Toledo, Ohio; and brothers, Jesse Blackford of Toledo, Ohio, and Tim Blackford of Toledo, Ohio.

A gathering to celebrate Terry’s life will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville.
