On the eve of Saturday, November 25, 2023, Timothy Gerard Cook, 63, of Mooresville, N.C., found eternal release from long-standing complications of congenital heart failure while surrounded by his wife and daughters, .
A native New Yorker, Tim was born on April 15, 1960, to the late Henry and Theresa Tullo Cook. An avid music enthusiast and acoustic guitar player, he enjoyed listening to classic rock and rhythm and blues artists such as The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, B.B. King, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. When he wasn’t punctuating the lives of friends, family and colleagues with his gift for gab and storytelling, he could be found watching history and nature documentaries, enjoying the full library of Marvel Comic films and television shows, and reading science fiction and fantasy literature. He proudly exercised his right to bear arms and was a connoisseur of fine food, spirits, and cigars.
A dedicated family man, provider and exceptional grill master, Tim will always be remembered for his big personality and warm heart; he was everyone’s friend and never met a stranger.
He is survived by his loving wife, Harriet Berger Cook; children, Dayna Whaley (Michael) and Lisa Bober (John); brothers, Kevin Cook (Jackie) and Brian Cook; granddaughter, Graecyn Whaley; feline companions, Skylar and AJ; nephews, Shaun and Matthew; and many wonderful lifelong friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with Ed Kane officiating.
Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville is proudly serving the Cook family.
