Vance Allen Martin Jr., 72, of Statesville, N.C., passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023.

Mr. Martin was born on July 25, 1950, in Newbury, S.C.  He was the son of the late Vance Allen Martin Sr. and Lula Mae Walters Martin. Vance was a graduate of Statesville High School and received an associate degree from Elon College.  He was employed with Southland Packaging. He enjoyed playing golf, and loved sports. 

Those left to cherish the memory of Mr. Martin include his sister, Linda (Danny) Lippard; his nephew, Todd (Michelle) Carpenter; his great-nephew, Jake (Kellyn) Carpenter; and his great, great-niece, Wrenley Jean Carpenter.

A celebration of life for Vance will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Troutman Funeral Home. The Rev. John Parks will officiate.
